  Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani

Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Morshidi bin Abdul Ghani, received his Bachelor in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia before subsequently earning a Master of Science in Human Resource Administration from the University of Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA.

After a decade long stint with PETRONAS, Tan Sri entered the State Civil Service in 1998 as the Director of Human Resource Management in the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Department and served in various senior level capacities throughout a distinguished civil service career. Tan Sri was the Sarawak State Secretary from 2009 up to August 2019 and currently plays an active role as a member of the Boards in several Sarawak State agencies and statutory bodies.


  Dato Christopher anak Adrian

An engineer by profession, Dato Christopher anak Adrian, received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and later obtained his Masters of the same discipline in 1991 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA.

He served in Jabatan Kerja Raya HQ Sarawak from 1985 to 1996 before founding his own private design consulting firm, Jurutera TCS Sdn Bhd in 1996. In 2004 until 2013, he was appointed and served as a Councillor to the Sibu Municipal Council.

He is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia, and the Association of Consulting Engineers, Malaysia.


  Datu Hj Abang Halmi bin Ikhwan

Datu Haji Abang Halmi Bin Ikhwan holds an Honours Degree in Economics (Accounting) from University of Malaya and Master of Business Administration (Major in International Business Management) from Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.

He is currently the President of Dewan Usahawan Bumiputra Sarawak and was appointed to the National Economic Action Council in March, 2020. He is also a member of board for Baitulmal Sarawak and board committee for Bumiputera Participation, Sarawak Energy Berhad. His notable past appointments include board member for Malaysian Palm Oil Berhad and Majlis Kemahiran Pembangunan Malaysia.

He began his career in 1972 with Bank Negara Malaysia and then served with Sarawak Economic Development Corporation. In 1979, he joined Bintulu Development Authority and was promoted as the General Manager in 1983.  He later assumed the position of Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Resource Planning, Sarawak from 1992 until 1996 and Permanent Secretary to Ministry of Rural and Land Development from 1996 to 2002.


  Peter Chin Mui Khiong

Mr. Peter Chin Mui Khiong is a Fellow of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

He started his career with Hanafiah, Raslan and Mohamad, Kuching and has more than 35 years of professional experience in the areas of audit and business advisory services. He was a Partner of Ernst & Young from 1997 until his retirement in June 2015 and has served as the partner-in-charge of a number of companies listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, as well as private and quasi-government corporations, which include industries such as manufacturing, plantation, banking, construction, transportation, hotel, hospital, education, stockbroking, unit trust and government agencies.

Mr. Peter Chin currently sits on the boards of several prominent public listed companies namely Landmarks Berhad, Hubline Berhad and Supreme Consolidated Resources Berhad.

Datu Laura was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of DBOS on 1 August, 2022.

She graduated with a Degree of Master in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Finance in 1983 from School of Management, University of Bradford, United Kingdom and a Degree of Bachelor of Technology in Chemistry in 1982 from the same University.

Prior to her appointment as the CEO, Datu Laura served as a non-executive director since the establishment of DBOS. She was involved in the inception and formation of the bank as early as February 2017.

As a director of DBOS for the last 5 years, she has been actively participating in the deliberations and decisions making of the Board and various Board Committees. She has good understanding of the mandate, operations as well as the business model of DBOS.

Datu Laura has a long-standing career and experience with more than 30 years’ service in both the public and private sector. She started her career as a branch/credit officer in MBF Leasing Sdn Bhd before taking up a position in Sarawak Shell Miri Bhd (SSB) as a planning and economic engineer. Her key responsibilities in SSB were to undertake economic evaluations and analysis of the company’s future projects and investments proposals in its oil and gas ventures in Sarawak.

After a short stint in Shell, Datu Laura joined Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) where she spent almost 22 years in different capacities. The last position was the General Manager of the Corporation. In June, 2009, Datu Laura was appointed as the Sarawak State’s Deputy Financial Secretary where she served a total of 9.5 years.

While in the office of SEDC, she was involved in numerous corporate exercises amongst which were the corporate and business restructuring, loan restructuring, implementation of reporting and financial system as well fund-raising exercises in USD involving international bankers and investors. During her tenure in the State Financial Secretary’s Office, her main responsibilities covered annual state budgetary allocation, compliance, finance and administration as well as spearheading financial transformation of the State.

With her extensive experience and exposure in both the State and government linked companies and the private sector, she would be able to continue leading DBOS in delivering its given mandate in line with the State’s aspiration and vision.
